Producer Hub - Infrastructuring Producer Ecosystem
We are working towards setting up a Producer Hub in Channapatna and Bidar to co-create an enabling producer ecosystem for small and medium-size producers in the region. The hub will preferably work with women-producers, both individuals, producer organisations, SHGs, cooperatives and collectives, but will not be limited to only women. The rationale for a producer hub emerges from the existing challenges that restrain the sustainable functioning of producer companies in the country identified in several studies/evaluation reports published by NABARD. This directly affects the livelihood opportunities of our women producers in some cases loss of livelihood too.
A one-of-a-kind infrastructure by Deccan Living Labs, Manesiri and Aruvu Collaboratory, the Producer Hub will address the concerns of women-led producer companies/organisations/collectives. The vision is to enhance the livelihood of women producers and their capabilities as farmers, and food entrepreneurs. The key outcomes of the Producer Hub will be,
- Increased Income generation for Women Producers
- Build, Grow, and Maintain common production infrastructure
- Support women-producer collectives to learn, adapt and operate enterprises
- Expand and maintain a network of (women) producers, practitioners, enterprises, scholars, and researchers
- Investment and funds for the producers of the place.
