The Homemaker’s Kit is a toolkit that takes you to a fictional world where housework has been commodified and patriarchy denied. Masquerading as a cookbook, it features six delicious recipes that call for the reader to look closer and read between the lines. The cookbook hides secret provocations, that once decoded, reveal the patriarchal roots of domestic care. Unless read carefully and closely, ‘The Homemaker's Kit: A User Manual’ looks like any other instruction manual posing as a cookbook.

The HomeMaker's Kit is an artist book co-created by Eeshita Kapadiya and homemakers in the Pete Area in Bengaluru. It started as a diploma project and made its way to larger public through platforms such as Gender Bender.
